31 Weeks...

Hey baby girl! You're 31 weeks old gestationally today. Wow. It's a little freaky to write it out there like that. It's almost time for you to make your grand entrance and I'm sure you will arrive in great style. Hopefully with a little less of an anouncement than your daddy, who broke grandma's tail bone during his debut. We won't think about that now, but if that is your plan, could you maybe just hang out in there? You are more and more active as the days go on, you seem to be a little shy though. When it's just you and me, you move around like crazy I can feel you moving 90% of the day, and we're not talking small movements, but this weekend when there was a whirlwind of people around for the shower you quietened down and moved very little until we were alone again laying next to daddy. You get shy with daddy too, I don't know if it's the difference in his touch or the sound of his voice but you quieten down when he rests his hand on my belly

Anybody seen Jonah?

I've heard the stories about random people commenting on the size of a pregnant woman and while it's always chalked up to stupidity it's still a little painful and makes you view youself in a whole new light. I prefer no light when I'm looking in the mirror so that I may continue to imagine myself with a substantially smaller belly and while I'm at it I go ahead and shrink my butt and firm up several other areas as well....I may be delusional, don't send help. I've been spared many of these comments so far because unless I'm wearing an obviously pregnant outfit I don't feel that I really look pregnant except from the side view. I've gained a whopping 15 lbs in the 30 weeks I've been gestating froggybaby so I'm honestly pretty happy with my size despite outgrowing a pair of maternity pants. I still feel like a whale compared to my old body and I tend to waddle late at night when I may or may not be rocking cankles. Today** I had a regular

A baby shower!

This past weekend we were thrown an awesome couples shower by froggyfriend, K. The decorations were superb, a hand painted sign that will hang in froggybabies room, balloons and streamers galore and even a little people decoration... Froggydaddy rocking his apron complete with nipples! K went all out with the food, stuffed shells, taquitos, plantains, spinach dip, and the list goes on and on and froggyfriend D made a fabulous spicy chicken dip that was so good I couldn't stop eating even after I had heartburn! We played a couple games, the one for the guys was to chug-a-lug beer out of a baby bottle and the first one finished won a six pack. It was hilarious to watch a bunch of Marines drink out of a baby bottle. The other game was one where K put baby food into diapers and we had to guess the food by smell. Some of the contents were questionable and not one of them looked appetizing! I don't think I was supposed to taste the diaper filling...
