Cue the tears...

The tears have started. They started this morning actually, for no reason I just got all sad a mopey that I'll be tearing Madelyn away from her grandparents and started crying. Then we went and visited one set of Great-grandparents and Chris Dad and I got all snotty crying about not bringing Domino with us to CA. I really miss that dog. I would give anything if he would just get along with Madelyn and learn to love her and not be grouchy with her. I wish Cesar could come and walk him and teach him how to love the baby instead of resenting her for taking his place. Tomorrow we'll say goodbye to my Granny and the other side of Chris' family...then Saturday afternoon we leave. Our stuff was delivered to Chris from storage today. I'm sad that I'm not there to welcome it into the house, that I didn't get to check out the house before it got filled with boxes o' crap, that I'm not there to help my husband unpack. Speaking of husband, he has pneumonia and

Bum...

So if somebody is SUPER lazy for 3 1/2 months and didn't do anything besides eat, play with the baby, and visit family and then goes shopping 3 DAYS before driving to CA she might learn that she has gained some extra pounds along the journey that she didn't mean to pick up and it would appear that a lot of the pounds are on her bum because that is what she turned in to for the entire time and now it's spring in CA and she will be expected to wear something other than jeans and bulky sweaters*. THANK goodness this somebody has a jogging stroller and several miles of trails in her new neighborhood to run on. Plus this somebody is going to train to run a 10K (I'm not cool like Bonnie...I don't have the patience to run a marathon) so there might be extra lbs but there is also a plan to get them gone. *Is that the longest sentance ever or what?

Don't you hate it...

When there's a freaking knot in your yarn? I hate finding stupid knots where the yarn either broke or was the end of a spinning and they just tie a knot in it! Luckily this is a fluffy thick scarf so the knot isn't really sticking out like a sore thumb, but man it stinks!

My baby on stuff...

Today I loaded all of our things up on a tractor trailer and sent them off into the wild blue yonder. All I have is a suitcase, a few boxes of important papers, jewelry, etc...and some toys and movies for a trip across the country with a 16 month old. Good times. This qualifies as stuff on my baby and my baby on stuff! This is after she removed her cutie patootie striped tights and shoes...don't you love those cankles? Her dress is one she got for her birthday that she finally grew into. Thank you Jessica !!! Please ignore the messy floor. I had been packing, she had been playing...nobody was cleaning. Oh, and ignore the pizza on her shirt. Actually...only look at the cute baby sitting on the top of the sit and spin. Yeah, she hasn't quite mastered it yet, but she has fun!

Little update...

Isn't there a rule about buying a woman appliances as a Valentines day gift? Hmmm... Too bad! Because my husband bought me the most fabulous washer and dryer for Valentines day! It stinks that I won't get to use it for almost 3 more weeks because said washer and dryer are in CA and I am not. He also got me a new refridgerator...what is up with houses not having a fridge when you rent them? Seriously. We are paying enough rent for our new house that it should cook dinner for me and it doesn't even have a fridge! Ridiculous! In other news, only 5 days until I load all of the stuff we have with us here in a moving truck and send it on its way to meet Chris. THEN only 12 days until Madelyn, Mom and I start our trek across the country. It's going to be bittersweet, I am going to miss family more than I can even imagine at this point, but we will be with Chris again and I can't wait to be settled and a family again. I just kind of hate that it's on the OTHER

Camera dump...

Here are some random pictures that were going to get their own post but now I don't think they warrant a WHOLE post all to themselves so they are going to have to share a post with "dump" in the title and they can like it or I'll delete them. :) Two qualify for stuff on my baby but I don't want to wait anylonger to share them. This was a random picture of my purse one day...proving that Madelyn has taken over. The green at the bottom is a baby spoon. If you correctly guess the baby food I'll send you a cookie... I love this wrinkly face! This is Baxter, my parents husky mix. He is a big doofus but so sweet. He is rarely, if ever, still and I snuck up on him asleep like this one day and absolutely loved it. The camera beep woke him up. Did I show ya'll my gingerbread house? I couldn't remember, here is the front. Yes, I took this picture because I was throwing it away....last week. shutup Nutella and graham crackers...yumm yumm!

Made me laugh...

You are on the bus when you suddenly realize ... you need to fart. The music is really loud, so you time your farts with the beats. After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach your stop. As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down, and that's when you remember: you've been listening to your iPod.

Blah blah blah...blog.

I really wish there was something going on daily in my life that was bloggable, but I'm pretty boring these days. We did rent that house we're just waiting on the property management company to recieve our security deposit and then we will have a house to move in to! Woohoo! I don't want to brag too much about this house, but it is FREAKING awesome! It has 3 bedrooms plus an office a formal living/dining area, huge kitchen with dining room and family room, 3 car garage, fenced in backyard and is on a cul-de-sac in a gated community in a town that we LOVE. I feel so lucky to have found this house and for it to still be available. We almost didn't get it because there was another application in on the property but we rushed and got ours in. It felt like we were bidding on a house to buy. My next two weeks will be full of packing and trying to sort our stuff from my Granny's stuff and repacking unpacked boxes so that they can survive going cross-country. I am bo

Our new home...

If all goes well tomorrow, this will be our new home in California: What happens tomorrow? A friend goes to make sure the house has all its walls, floors and doors. Our application has been accepted and our move date is set! Oh yeah, this will be my kitchen... Who's coming for dinner?
